Next Steps and Resources for Continuing Projects

December 1st’s meeting focused heavily on how students can get engaged in the community and make real social change after courses end. As this meeting focused heavily on sharing resources, I have linked to many of them below for ease of browsing. Happy Holidays!

Privilege and Poverty Internships: Although applications are closed for 2022, the Privilege and Poverty Academic Cluster offers summer internships working in several different disciplines in Middlebury and across the country focused on opportunities to make a difference in the world. More information can be found at: https://www.middlebury.edu/office/community-engagement/programs/signature-programs/privilege-poverty/internships

MiddWorks Vermont: MiddWorks are paid internships through the CCI that support areas of need in the state while allowing students to gain paid work experience. Last years information can be found here: https://sites.middlebury.edu/cci/education/the-news/middworks-vermont-based-paid-summer-internships/

CCI Advisors: The CCI advisors are very knowledgeable when it comes to finding internships or jobs. They can also attend a class session to share how to translate classroom knowledge to the real world. The CCI’s home page is: https://sites.middlebury.edu/cci/

CCE: If you or your students have an idea for community-engaged learning or projects that are not currently offered. Reach out to the CCE. Their home page is: https://www.middlebury.edu/office/community-engagement/contact

Money for Continuing Projects: If students are excited to launch or implement their project, grants and resources are available through Middlebury’s Innovation Hub. https://www.middlebury.edu/office/innovation-hub/programs
